General CommentNow I know im gonna get slaughtered for this but hey its what I thought when I first heard the song. But, until then, she will continue to sing and wish revenge on everyone.
Adults feel and act the same way as children in these kinds of situations (perhaps they will react in a different way depending on the person).Ĭorrect me if I'm wrong, but when you are being abused, you won't want to talk about it because you feel ashamed however, despite you not wanting anyone to know, there is a part of you that hopes someone will take off their mask ('Too consumed in their masquerade') and finally open their eyes to what is actually happening and do something about it and save the victim. I agree with GreyscaleBluebird about the main character having been or being abused, though I won't necessarily be so quick to assume that the victim is a child. My personal interpretation is that these lyrics are all about revenge. My InterpretationNow that most people have expressed how they feel about Ben Moody, Anastacia, and Amy Lee (although she doesn't really have anything to do with the song), I believe it's time to focus on the song itself and what message its trying to send out or what the story's about.
